Second Wind Halfway House
A certified alcohol and drug continuing care residency/treatment program for chemically dependant adult men. Established as a non-profit corporation in 1971 and located in downtown Salisbury, Maryland.
Our mission is to assist individuals become productive, responsible recovering adults.
Second Wind is governed by a Board of Directors. An Executive Director manages the operation with the assistance of an Addictions Counselor, House Manager, Relief House Manager and a p/t Cook.
Certification is by the State of Maryland, Department
of Health and Mental Hygiene,
Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Administration. Capacity is for six male residents.
The house is in excellent condition, comfortable, clean and close to 12 step meetings.
Admission Criteria
Referrals must have completed inpatient treatment or
intensive outpatient treatment / A face to face interview must occur in order to
be considered for admission / Referrals must have a primary assessment of
chemical dependance and be abstinent from alcohol and all illicit chemicals
/ Male - 18 years or older / Ambulatory and free of major medical
and/or major psychological problems
Willing to take responsibility for room
and board / Amenable to group living
Totally capable of self care /
Exceptions to the admission criteria are at the
sole discretion of the executive director.
