Fabric work on a Kitfox

In 2002 Mr. Tony Markl came to Kansas City to instruct and help cover my Kitfox Series 5 Outback. I had attempted some covering prior to Tony's arrival but was not satisfied with the results. Tony was able to point out areas for improvement and explain "tricks" to make the work easier, more enjoyable and progress faster. During the next 3 weeks Tony worked nonstop from morning until night usually 10-11 hours each day. He gave me chores and parts to complete as my work schedule would allow. Together we were able to completely cover and paint the airplane. Tony's knowledge of the Poly Fiber process is complete.

A couple things can be done prior to Tony's arrival that will save some time:

Make sure all materials are on site

Make sure the airplane is truly ready for covering. Reading and adhering to the Poly Fiber manual is very helpful prior to Tony's arrival.

Have plenty of empty containers available for mixing.

An HVLP spray system is necessary.

Find and calibrate an iron for shrinking the fabric. Tony is very particular about calibrating irons and finding a good iron is harder and more time consuming than you think.

Finally, Tony likes to read, so a local library card is handy.

I would highly recommend Tony and you can certainly trust him with your house keys.
