Puzzled by how to move your
finished aircraft or new project to your site? Use me or my trailer for air or
ground transport.
The Pilot
treats your airplane like he treats his own. I have ATP, CFI, and
A&P ratings and 2800 tailwheel hours in more than 40 makes and
models, including 8 biplanes. (I have not flown a nosewheel airplane
since 1991 -- and that was a PanAm 727.) I know how to hand prop
and how to flight plan for low-horsepower, short-range, NORDO aircraft.
I do not push fuel, weather, or darkness; I have had enough successful
forced landings from mechanical problems. Recent types delivered: Piper Pawnee,
T-craft, Citabria, PA-11, Ryan PT-22, Globe Swift, Waco UPF-7, and numerous Aeronca
Champs and J-3s.
The
Trailer can be adapted to carry almost any kind of small tailwheel project.
You can also rent it to do your own delivery.
Food for Thought
Many times the aircraft being delivered has not flown for a long time and
will need some attention along the way. A recent delivery of an
Aeronca L-3 from Connecticut to Texas started as a flying delivery but due to
mechanical problems along the way it finished as a trailer delivery. In this
case we were lucky enough to lose oil pressure near my home, and it was easy
to get my aircraft project recovery trailer and the L-3 together.
