Katherine Hamilton, 1896-1997
Katherine Hamilton, who was born in 1896, made
her home in Gloucester, Virginia.
She insisted that over forty years of living with
her much loved Irish Wolfhounds
kept her feeling young.
Although Mrs. Hamilton did not breed a great number
of dogs, she was extremely proud of those she did breed.
Anyone coming to Gloucester could stop by any time and hear
some of this lady's stories and experiences that spanned
the years. We can't hear the stories from her now, but if
you read her poetry, no more needs to be said for her great
admiration and true love of the breed.
We are very fortunate to have had Mrs. Hamilton
as a
continuing member of the IWCA for many years.
