My Avalon Wolfhounds
| Having been in love with the breed for almost twenty years now, I am
still totally under their spell. My hounds are part of my family, each one wonderful and unique. They are with us in the home - sharing each and every experience of loss and love. The Irish Wolfhound is a short lived breed, but the love and devotion each one gives will last a lifetime. As a breeder I hope each and every owner will do everything they can to ensure that the wolfhound as a breed will come forth with fewer health issues. Please support research that will help in breeding healthier litters in the future. As most are aware, I am a proud supporter of the Irish Wolfhound Seizure Study. Because it has affected my own wolfhound family in the past, I feel strongly that health studies, like ours, will one day help in breeding programs to produce dogs who will live longer and healthier. As for the rest of my history, I work for a private wildlife artist in a bronze foundry, which enables me to cast a few wolfhound sculptures of my own. They are by no means the best, but I think they depict the inner personality of the wolfhound. After a day of bronze work, it is sometimes hard to come home and find time and drive to sculpt myself, because after all, the hounds want to run,and play and eat!!
