Savory Soup Stall: Jualdhe Village, Tar Valon City
A small, cozy shop, with simple walls of wavy plaster and rough beams and a
simple flagstone floor, Savory Soups is a pot-shop where hungry patrons can
enjoy warm bowl of stew or soup for a few coppers. A row of three hearths lies
along the back wall, each one set with a large kettle of black iron. A few
tables lie here and there, and a half-wall conceals an area where the soups are
prepared, complete with a chopping block, tub and sink. Fragrant bunches of
herbs hang overhead, and tidy shelves are set with small bowls and crocks,
napkins, and boxes of cutlery. A large set of shelves is filled with neat rows
of jars of mince, dried beans and vegetables. A few sacks of barley and tubers
lie beneath. An aroma of bubbling stew fills the room.
The warm afternoon sunshine fills the room as patrons and travellers enjoy a
crock of soup and some bread as their midday meal. The shop is snug and warm,
as the heat from the triple hearth flows across the room. A festive garland of
autumn foliage hangs over the door and windows. A stout door of oak, carved
with wheat and vegetables leads to the Village Commons

Astaldo

Immoridin
Tehannah
Genaro
Immoridin smiles gently while making sure the notes from his lute sound as
gentle as a breese. " I'm sure that he will be home to you shortly." Turning to
Halina "When you can my dear."
Astaldo enters and makes his way to the stew pots adding something to them and
stirring them gently. He nods to himself before making his way over to the
guests.
A tall figure, taller than most, enters upon the seen. Odd tufted ears twitch
back and forth as this figure makes its way forward. A long dress, decorated in
gold filigree tread, creating vines and other floral designs, fill the gown in
an austere fashion. The Ogier Eldest peers about - obviously having heard of
the event that was to be held here. A small, demure smile graces her features
as she moves to as an unobtrusive spot as possible.
Immoridin bows deeply to the ogier, his head almost touching the floor dispite
his great weight. "A pleasure to have such company...."
Halina nods and turns making her way to a large kettle. She scoops two helpings
of stew into bowls and placing them on a tray. She returns and sets one infront
of each gleeman.
Genaro says "mmmm thank you, I have to get some new strings, please escuse me"
A blush comes to Marith's cheeks, "Please, Master, do not bow so..." She
thinks, then adds, "The blessing of the Light and stillness upon you." Her
voice rumbles in a rich fashion, almost musical.
Astaldo looks over and bows as the Ogier enters. "Good day. A true honor that
you grace the establishment with your presence. Please, make yourself at home."
Tehannah nods politely, "Eldest, tis good to see you, what brings you here?"
Genaro says "I should be back soon...pardon me"
Terus comes through the door into the Soup Stall.
Genaro opens the oken door and walks out onto the Commons.
Terus walks into the shop, and takes a look around...
Immoridin waves distractedly asGEnaro leaves. Hiseyes are riveted to the ogier.
The Ogier Eldest turns her attention to Tehannah. She nods her head
respectfully to the Sage, "Was this not a public event....?" Marith seems
surprised, almost startled at Tehannah's question, a blush coming to the
Leader's cheeks once more. "If I am intruding, I will leave." She brushes over
her skirts with one hand and looks as if she's readying herself to leave
straight away.
Astaldo smiles. "It is a public event. Please, come make yourself comfortable.
A bowl of stew on the House for such an honored guest."
Immoridin looks up into the Eldest's eyes. "No, no. You are very welcome. I
thank you for gracing my performance here today.
Tehannah smiling, "Ah Eldest, I apologize, just the Ogier seem to never come to
town unless they are building, I am so happy you are coming for the events.
Will be good when all of us begin to get to know each other better."
Ya'angren comes through the door into the Soup Stall.
Malandra arrives with Ya'angren.
Tehannah says "Landy Malandra, Lord Ya'angren..peace favor."
Terus smiles as walks over to find a seat for himself quietly.
Astaldo has partially disconnected.
Immoridin bows to as the nobles enter
A frown appears on Marith's features briefly, though otherwise she remains calm
as ever. It takes very much to anger an Ogier - but disappointment is another
thing, "We do more than just build, Mistress Sage. We are here to observe and
see the culture of those about us, and I assure you those who've been building
have also been other places, when they are not being chased away for being
trollocs."
Malandra smiles and nods towards the sage, "Thank you Teh.. we are most
honored, peace favor you as well... really you must visit, I don't think I have
seen you since the events at Lord Igraesor's party af ew days past.."
Aensen comes through the door into the Soup Stall.
Malandra smiles and nods politely towards the gleeman before gently pulling
Ya'n off to the side so she can sit down.
At Astaldo's words Halina rushes off to fill another bowl for the ogier. She
looks a bit startled though.
Aensen pokes his large head in, and his already large eyes widen as he sees
Marith. He walks in, lowering his head to avoid hitting the ceiling.
Tehannah turns to Malandra, "Ah I shall, and I see Lord Ya'angren had made it
today, I was hoping me Das would show up he is due in from Tear."
Ya'angren smiles to all and bows his head slightly as he enters. He makes his
way to the small table with Mala and seats himself.
Ya'angren takes a seat at the Small Table.
Malandra takes a seat at the Small Table.
Immoridin begins to tune his lute all the while taking largebites of his stew.
Malandra smiles and nods sympathetically towards Tehannah, "Well I'm sure he
will be home soon, but yes I finally managed to pull Ya'n away from his
patrol.. he's been so busy wit work lately.. really I must have my mother find
someone to help him train the guards..."
Marith turns her attention to the newest addition to the crowd. She bows her
head slightly to the other Ogier, "The blessing of the Light and stillness upon
you," She greets Aensen with a traditional Ogier greeting. Her own tufted ears
drift back and forth, sharply catching snippets of conversation that might not
otherwise be heard by normal human ears.
Astaldo bows to the new ogier as he enters. "A pleasure to have another of your
kind at the Stall. A true honor. Please come and make yourself comfortable." He
nods to Halina for another bowl.
Tehannah sips her tea, looking around at all who have come in then settles back
to listen to Immoridin.
Ya'angren looks to Mala and shakes his head slightly, a touch of laughter on
his lips.
Aensen nods to the others in the room, and approaches the other Ogier first.
"he blessing of the Light and stillness upon you as well. I am called Aensen.
May I join you on this occasion?"
Tehannah smiles to Malandra, "I shall have to vist soon so we may continue our
discussion..............."voice trailing a bit.
Malandra giggles and playfully nudges Ya'n before a sly grin crosses her face
at the Sage's words, "Yes please do, I myself found our conversation most...
amusing to say the least."
Ya'angren raises his brow slightly. "May I ask what this conversation was
about?"
Tehannah a bit of a blush betrays her, "Why yes it was. I do hope Das arrives
though, I am sure he would enjoy this, would be a change for him from all that
work he does."
Malandra looks over towards Ya'n as if she was about to say something, but then
leaning over to kiss his cheek, she only replies with the word "No."
Immoridin begins to play the lue in daark yet soothing tones that almost mime
the movements of the sea.
Ya'angren shakes his head slightly, a bit of color entering his cheeks. "What
ever you say dear."
Marith bows her head once more to Aensen, "Your name sings in my ears Aensen. I
am Marith, daughter of Paloa daughter of Altar, Eldest of Stedding Moatai." She
glances to the others about the room, having temporarily forgotten about them,
then back to the other Ogier, "As far as I can tell, we are all invited - or so
I've been assured."
Malandra makes a face of disgust almost, "Well perhaps that's what your plans
are.. though mine will be a little different.." Then grinning at Ya'n, she
slips her arms around him before leaning over to mutter something across the
table.
Halina returns with the bowls of stew and place it on one of the tables.
"Please good Ogier. On the house. I hope you enjoy."
Mariah comes through the door into the Soup Stall.
Marith turns her attention to Halina, smiling gently. It comes off as a large
expression, too big for her features. "My many and most humble thanks
mistress." She looks about the soup stalls, then her ears worriedly flicker
back and forth, "But I will stand. I am not certain your furniture will hold my
weight."
Aensen grins, and a huge smile splits his face. "Ah... Eldest Marith. I had
heard that someone of your position was in the city." He blinks for a second,
remembering what he last said. "Ah, yes, I'm sorry for my lack of tradition. I
am Aensen, son of Valen, son of Tesoa. I had found that sometimes humans have
no time to listen." he says with a grin.
Astaldo glances at Marith and nods. "My apologies Eldest. I shall have that
solved as soon as I can."
Halina takes the bowls of stew and makes her way to the Marith and Aensen
handing each one with a small bow. "The largest bowls I could find. I hope they
will do."
Immoridin's pace picks up as the music seems to roll. He bigins to walk around
the stalls as though trying to play for everyone individually.
Ya'angren sighs at Mala's words. "We shall talk about it later my love. No is
not the time I'm afraid." He looks around the room once again.
Tehannah motions to Halina, "please bring me a small bowl of the wonderful
stew."
Aensen smiles at Halina as he accepts the bowl. "Thank you, young lady." he
says, in a deep rumble of a voice.
Malandra sighs and nods towards her husband in agreement before turning back to
watch the gleeman.
A smile flicker's over Marith's features at Aensen's greeting, "Again your name
sings in my ears." She chuckles lightly, murmuring quietly so as not to have
her words spread too far about the room, "And aye, humans can be quite hasty,
hasty indeed. We have found that to be true even here." She glances back to
Astaldo and gives a small bow of her head, "My thanks, Master." She does so
once more when Halina hands her the stew, "And my deepest thanks for this. I
had not expected a meal."
Halina nods at Teh's words and rushes off quickly to fill the order.
Astaldo nods. "A meal is only the beginning. I do hope you enjoy yourself."
Aensen smiles at Marith. "As your name sings to mine, Eldest." He looks around,
looking for a chair that might be capable of supporting his weight, and nearly
hits his head to the ceiling in the process...
Ya'angren smiles at the gleemans fine music before turning to Mala again. He
mutters to Malandra, "... a bit... a... for Aphrania.... was... to... House...
her.... out... the... but... mount... is."
Halina returns to Tehannah's table with the stew and places gently down.
Marith winces at Aensen's action, "Careful son of Valen son of Tesoa," she
speaks to the other Ogier, "the ceilings are low in human dwellings, not like
our own homes in the Stedding." Advice he probably already knows, but could be
in need of reminding. She contents herself with standing by the wall, staying
out of the way of any major attraction. She smiles at Astaldo's words once
more, "A pleasure that I look forward to."
Malandra smiles and nods in agreement, She mutters to Ya'angren, "... the...
will... it... Horsebackriding... child good."
Tehannah takes a seat at the Carved Table.
Immoridin moves over to the small table where he can play to Lady Malandra and
Lord Ya'angren to whom he bows politely. He introduces his voice briefly
although his singing has an aire of a stringed instrument.
Ya'angren nods slightly listening to the tune again and smiles.
Tehannah sits quietly, although alert to all that is going on, and listens to
the entertainment.
Genaro comes through the door into the Soup Stall.
Genaro tiptoes in.
Genaro takes a seat at the Carved Table.
Aensen chuckles, a deep rumble that repeats itself as he does. "Yes, Eldest. As
I have noticed." He looks around again, and finds a chair large enough. He
walks over to it, brings it up near the Eldest, and takes a seat.
Tehannah motions to Genaro, "Come, join me and listen to this wonderful music."
Astaldo looks to the Ogier again and strokes his chin with his thumb and
forefinger. "I am truely sorry I am not prepared for such guests. But there are
several sturdy barrels in the back which I can roll out for you if you wish.
Not the greetest of seats but they will do."
Genaro says "Did I miss anything?"
Tehannah shakes her head, "No it is just beginning."
Immoridin mutters to , "I... comming.... what I am sure... you..."
Aensen glances up at Astaldo. "I will be fine here. My thanks...?" he looks at
the man patiently, expecting a name.
Malandra mutters to Immoridin, "... trouble... Immoridin. Please, feel free...
at the..."
Ya'angren looks up at Immoridin and smiles before glancing over at Astaldo.
"Please. I have more than one source. You must visit us at the Manor one day."
Astaldo bows his head slightly. "As you wish. My apologies once again. The name
is Astaldo Berult. I run this establishemnt."
Immoridin smiles broadly, his eyes flickering inAstaldo's direction. "Many
thanks My Lord. I may have to take you up on that offer."
Marith turns her attention back to Astaldo, "Your name sings in my ears Master
Astaldo, though I assure you I am fine standing."
Halina looks to the rest of the guests seeing if they need anything at all.
Ya'angren nods towards Immoridin and smiles. "I look forward to our next
meeting then."
Genaro says "Ale please, ALe!"
Aensen smiles up at the owner of the shop. "Ah... no apologies necessary,
Astaldo Berult. I am known as Aensen, son of Valem son of Tesoa." He squirms a
bit on the chair, producing tiny unpleasant sounds from it. "Hmmm. Perhaps I
will take your barrels, after all, Master Astaldo." he says, chuckling.
Immoridin moves over towards Tehannah and Genaro. He continues to playing
swiftly.
Genaro smiles studies Immoridin's fine instrument.
Marith winces as Genaro yells for Ale, a slightly pained expression on her
features. Her tufted ears dance back and forth, "Hasty and loud...." She
comments absently, again her voice a soft rumble so it only sounds like a
whispering wind to the humans when speaking, but normal to the Ogier beside
her.
Tehannah smiles at Immoridin, eyes alive as she glances at the door hoping Das
will suddenly arrive.
Astaldo bows one again to Marith and Aensen. "It is a pleasure. Truely. And I
shall get that barrel for you as you wish Aensen, son of Valem son of Tesoa."
Genaro eyes light up and begins joining in the melody a bit louder
Halina looks to Genaro with a small smile as he rushes over in his direction.
"I am sorry Gleeman. The Savory Soup does not carry alcohol. Perhaps a bowl of
stew of glass of juice would be more to your liking."
Immoridin continues to make his circuit around the stalls.
Tehannah sits back and enjoys the music...
Aensen stands from the chair, and puts it aside. He smiles at Marith. "Yes,
Eldest. But I am eager to see what they have in store." He glances at the
gleeman, smiling at the tune.
Genaro Still playing "The Savory Soup has no real Drink, I believe I'll die of
thirst before I accept this juicy drink...
Astaldo disappears into the back room for a minute before returning, a sturdy
barrel being rolled out. He makes his way to Aensen and sets it upright. "I
hope this will do." He looks at the chair Aensen once occupied and laughs
slightly. "My word that there shall be better chairs for next time."
Halina nods, a small frown on her face.
Tehannah looks around for the server to see if her stew is coming yet and her
tea...
Genaro smiles and wiggles his eyebrows at Halina, "Any wine? Sweet barmaid of
mine?
Astaldo looks to Halina and smiles slightly. "Bring the good Gleeman a glass
from my personal stock Halina."
Immoridin plays his way over to the other gleeman as he says his last comment.
He looks them deep in the Eyses before opening his mouth to song. " Doubt that
the stars arre fire........"
Halina nods and rushes into the backroom once again.
Halina has arrived.
Aensen pulls the barrel up beside Marith, and actually hits his head this time
with the ceiling slightly. He frowns as he puts the barrel upright and sits on
it. He says to Marith, "Sometimes it seems, I can be as hasty as they." He rubs
his head, somewhat sheepishly.
Malandra looks over towards Ya'n surprised for some reason, but smiles and
squeezes his hanfd gently.
Immoridin continues, "Doubt that the Sun doth shine...."
Halina returns with a glass of ale in her hands and sets it down beside Genaro.
Genaro licks his lips, "Oh What a Beautiful Feeling Oh what a Beautiful DAY
Thank YOU!
Tehannah giggles at Genaro's antics
Genaro says "Everything's Going" gulp-gulp-gulp"
Halina nods and smiles before tending to the needs of the other guests.
Tehannah turns to Halina, "have ye forgotten my stew and my tea? I know you are
so busy."
Astaldo grimaces slowly as he sees Aensen hit his head. "And I shall have the
roof raised as well when the renovations occure."
Immoridin sings, "Doubt truth to be a Liar......" he starts to move over to
Tehannah.
Halina looks to Tehannah with a puzzled look as she notices the bowl of stew
infront of her already. "I shall get that tea mi'lady."
Tehannah nods, "Ah seems I am a bit distracted" turns and begins eating, mind
drifting to Das's return....
"We will be leaving the city sometime soon to go back to our beloved Stedding.
We have been long away." Or at least in Marith's mind she's been long away. She
speaks this to Astaldo when he brings the barrel for Aensen, "But there are
other Ogier that frequent the grand city of Tar Valon to do repairs on teh work
that was originally fostered by the Ogier."
Ya'angren continues to listen to the tune smiling ever so slightly at Mala once
in a while.
Tehannah looks up at Immoridin with a smile
Genaro still keeping tempo, "Aensen watch your Head, Its not our wish to see
you dead, So Aensen we wonder, How dear Light do you fit in your bed?!!!!"
Astaldo nods slightly. "Then I hope the Savory Soup shall be a second home to
them when the visit."
Immoridin finishes the ballad with a smile to Tehannah. "But do not doubt that I love."
Malandra smiles and leans closer to Ya'n before murmering something to him
across the table.
Aensen smiles down at Astaldo. "Yes, I do hope so." He turns and gives Genaro a
puzzled look.
Tehannah smiles, eyes alive and dancing with rainbows....
Halina returns with the cup of tea and rests it gently on the table, a smile on
her face.
Genaro winks at Halina
Immoridin mutters to Tehannah, "... He is comming... soon.""
Genaro picks up a new sing-song rhythm, a little faster and lighter
Halina raises a brow at the wink but returns it with a small smile to Genaro.
Ya'angren turns back to Mala and raises a brow. "I'm not sure I like the sound
of that dear." He smiles slightly.
Terus waves over at Halina. "And some juice for me?" He has been sitting there
near the back, trying /very/ hard not to be noticed.
Immoridin matche s him and then raises the tempo and the volume seemly as a
challenge to Genaro. He then begins to pick up the speed in which he is
circling the room as though inviting all of the patrons to dance.
Genaro still strumming andcompeting with Immoridin, "There were there little
owls in a wood,
Genaro says "Who sang hymns whenever they could,"
Halina glances to Terus and smiles. "As you wish good sir." She rushes off and
returns quickly with a tall glass of an orange juice.
Genaro says "What the words were about One could never make out"
Malandra giggles and shrugs innocently at Ya'n, "Well you'll find out soon
enough."
Tehannah smiles, She mutters to Immoridin, "... do hope so would... grand..."
Genaro says "But one felt that it was doing them good"
Marith turns her head toward Genaro at his tune involving Aensen. Her hand
comes to her lips hiding a slight smile attempting to form on her features,
keeping her outward look otherwise composed. Afterwards she starts to eat some
of the soup she is holding, having allowed it to cool enough. "At least they
are not trying to dance the tir'ganza." This causes the Eldest to blush a bit,
and shake the memory from her mind.
Tehannah sits back watching the fun..
Ya'angren sighs and chuckles slightly before listening to the competeing
gleeman.
Astaldo looks around the room and smiles slightly at all is going on. He bows
slightly to the ogier before making his way to Ya'angren.
Astaldo mutters to Ya'angren, "... going well."
Genaro Strumming louder, and a new chord added, "Said an eminent, erudite
ermine,:
Genaro says "There's one thing I cannot determine:"
Immoridin's tempo picks up again as he begins to dance around the room
surprisingly, witha graceful foot.
Ya'angren looks to Astaldo and nods slightly. "That it is."
Genaro says "When a dame wears my coat, she's a person of note, WHen I wear it
Im only called vermin"
Astaldo stands and makes his way to the back of the room where he nods a
welcome to Terus.
Tehannah finishes her stew, and begins to sip at her tea, catching herself
swaying with the music she hears.
Ya'angren chuckles slightly at Genaro's words.
Malandra laughs shaking her head at Ya'an, amischievious smile crossing her
face, but it quickly disappears as she smiles and nods her head towards
Astaldo, "Good afternoon sir, Ya'an has spoken very highly of you."
Tehannah nods to Terus then returns her attention to the two gleemen
Immoridin laughs nearly falling to the floor at the last line of Genaro's
limeric.
Aensen's eyes widen at Marith's words, and he swallows a bit uneasily. "Yes, at
least. Ah... the noise of human occupancy..." he says a bit idly.
Astaldo turns quickly as he hears Mala's words and nods. "Thank you mi'lady.
Lord Ya'angren has spoken of you often as well. Perhaps a little to much so for
my liking." He grins slightly.
Terus nods to Astaldo and Tehannah, and resumes being as unnoticed as possible.
Tehannah motions to Terus to come join her and the gleeman..
Genaro says "A faithful Married Lord in a wood, Told a girl she should cling to
the Good,"
Terus politely declines the Sage's offer, and stays in his own table.
Marith glances oddly at Aensen, then a soft smile touches her lips once more,
"Tuatha'an came to visit the stedding for a time, and... introduced us to that
particular dance..." Her voice takes on a note of instruction.
Genaro says "She obeyed him, but gladly, He repulsed her, but sadly, And said
that she misunderstood"
Tehannah nods and returns her attentions to Genaro and Immoridin
Malandra giggles as her cheeks flush turning a bright red before kicking Ya'n's
foot playfully underneath the table. In a calm voice she nods, "Aye, I suppose
that's true.. Ya'n never did learn when to keep his mouth shut," she winks
before moving her chair over to avoid any counter attacks from Ya'n. "Although
I do hope you come visit us Master Astaldo, unless you have grown to weary
being around Ya'n."
Aensen nods to Marith, but keeps his attention to the music. "Yes, I had spoken
to one of the Ogier of your stedding a few days back, Eldest. He told me of
this dance. But not much of the details of it."
Ya'angren looks to Astaldo and shakes his head slightly saying he will get even
with him. He looks to Mala and sighs slightly simply shaking his head from side
to side.
Immoridin puts down his lute next to Tehannah's chair before leaning over to
speak in her ear.
Marith stands forward a bit, glancing down at Aensen upon his barrel seat,
"Indeed?" Interest lights upon the Eldest's eyes, "Which Ogier was this...?" A
smile graces her features as her interest is piqued.
Immoridin mutters to Tehannah, "... with..."
Astaldo chuckles. "I look forward to the meeting m'lady. I would like to see if
you are as...interesting as your husband says."
Genaro stands up on the chair with a victorious look, still strumming..
Tehannah looking a bit surprised, "Why, I would love to."
Tehannah stands from her seat at the table and joins Immoridin
Tehannah leaves his seat at the Carved Table.
Ya'angren looks back to Astaldo and his draw drops slightly before laughing
aloud.
Tehannah turns and winks to Malandra, something only the women would
understand.
Aensen frowns, and his furry brows knit together in thought. "I believe his
name was Aran, son of Jazen, son of Welmar. We didn't speak for very long. I
think he speaks an hour before he thinks, though, for he was in such a hurry."
Malandra raises an eyebrow wondering what Ya'n really does tell his friends,
but shrugs it off with a smile, "Well I'm not sure if interesting is the best
word to describe me Master Astaldo, although I must admit I cannot think of a
better word at the moment ethier."
Genaro says "If all the world could make music like Genaro, It would be a
happy, place....But as I think I would soon lose much money, and that would be
a true disgrace...."
Malandra giggles and nods towards Tehanah in agreement.
Astaldo nods. "If you say so m'lady." He looks to Ya'n and laughs. "I shall
remeber to bring a few stones for the meeting just in case."
Immoridin takes one of Tehannah's hands in in his. Then placing his hand around
her waist he begins to spin her around the room to the high tempo of Genaro's
music.
Ya'angren notices the winks between Tehannah and Mala and shakes his head
slightly. "Now what do you two have pla..." He stops and looks at Astaldo as he
hears his words, his eyes wide.
Tehannah flows with the music as only a Saldaean can, loosing herself in the
music.
Marith nods her head a bit, hearing Aran's name. "Ah, yes... I remember him. He
is still young yet." Well, being 150 naming days old is still considered young
to this particular Ogier. "But he worked well on the rebuilding of Alindaer."
Pride seems to enter the Eldest's eyes, "As did a great many others, including
members of the city itself."
Genaro playing with more formal flair, with a little extra rhythm here and
there and who knows where
Malandra giggles and nods itowards Teh once more before turning towards Astaldo
with a good natured smile, "You do that sir, although I believe I shall have to
teach you had to have proper aim.. ask Ya'n.. I never miss unless I do so on
purpose.."
Astaldo nods. "Yes, I've been told. But you would be surprised at my aim as
well."
Immoridin Immoridin adapts to her Saldaean style and he too looses himself in
the music.
Genaro with a mischeivous tone,"A creature of charm is the gerbil, It's diet is
esclusively herbal;
Tehannah gets caught up in the dance, hair flying like the wind as Immoridin
spins her.
Aensen smiles at Marith. "Yes, I noticed he was still quite young, in body and
in mind. And your stedding did quite a good job at the rebuilding, Eldest. I
had hoped to meet you during my stay here, perhaps so that I can visit your
stedding sometime."
Hearing Astaldo's words Ya'n quickly makes his way to his feet. He takes Mala's
hand gently. "Perhaps we should dance my love."
Malandra looks up amusingly at Ya'n, but nods and stands, "As you wish my
dear."
Malandra leaves his seat at the Small Table.
Genaro says "It browses all day, On great bunches of hay, And poots with an
elegant burble"
Ya'angren leaves his seat at the Small Table.
Ya'angren leads Mala on to the dance floor and bows his head slightly. He
smiles as he moves to the rhythem of the music. Not nearly as graceful as the
other couple.
Marith gives a small nod of her head to Aensen, "You may travel with us when we
go back. It is maybe ten days journey by foot." Her voice is a quiet, musical
rumble, whispering the wind, as she speaks to the Ogier next to her.
Occassionally, her eyes move to the others about the room, taking in their
actions and mannerisms.
Malandra gigles and makes a small curtsey before she begins following Ya'n's
lead across the floor.
Immoridindips Tehannah deeply in stark Saldaean style before he continues to
lead her around the room.
Astaldo looks at the going ons and smiles once again before going to check on
one of the pots of stew.
Aensen smiles in response to Marith's acceptance. "Thank you, Eldest. I am from
Stedding Quichen, myself. But I have not been there for a little while. The
Grove in this fair city has relieved some of the... Longing." He frowns a
little.
Ya'angren smiles at Mala. "It has been a while since we have done this dear. At
least there isn't any food covering the floor this time." He winks.
Tehannah flows with the motion completely unaware of her surroundings now as
she falls deeper and deeper into the musics spell.
Malandra laughs and nods at Ya'n in agreement, "Aye... although I do believe
Jasi still owes you a dance.. oh well... we shall have to visit Renica again
and we can have another... memorable occassion since she always seems to be
around in such matters."
Terus blinks with a start at the mention of Renica's name, and he frowns in
thought quietly.
Ya'angren continues his movement to the flowing music. "I shall have that dance
with Jasi eventually. But as for Renica. Well perhaps we should go and visit.
Or have her come visit us."
Genaro plays behind his back and grins
Immoridin mutters to Tehannah, "... Perhaps... Not that... enjoying your
company."
Marith nods to Aensen, murmuring quietly, "Aye, most of us spend much time
there, but even then that is not enough for the quiet peacefulness that is
exuded in the Stedding. As I said, we will be returning soon. I am simply
waiting word from the Amyrlin for one final matter that needs to be settled."
Terus is really trying hard to remember where he heard the name Renica
before... though he shouldn't be noticed by anyone else at the moment.
Malandra nods her head in agreement, "Of course dear.. I'm sure Rania would
love to meet her as well."
"A final matter, Eldest?" Aensen asks inquisitively.
Ya'angren chuckles. "The two of them together. That should be rather
interesting."
The Eldest nods her head, though a grave expression touches her features, "A
very delicate matter." She comments, not giving more detail than that. "One
that I believe only she should handle."
Astaldo tastes the contents of one of the stew pots before nodding again, He
makes his way over to Halina and smiles to her whispering something in her ear.
Genaro slows the Tempo to a crawl
Malandra giggles and nods as she follows Ya'n's movements, "Well Aphrania does
seem to need to get out of the manor much more of late.. although she is
behaving very well.. so I suppose we should take her to Caemlyn to visit
Renica, unless you wanted to visit Jayd first dear?"
Tehannah her movements slowing with the music radiates as only one of her birth
can...
Aensen nods silently in understanding. "Yes, Eldest. I didn't mean to pry. Just
curious, really."
Astaldo raises a brow at the conversation occuring between the ogier.
Immoridin leads tehannah back over to her table as the music slows. Smiling he
looks into her eyes as he pulls out her chair for her to sit down. He then
picks up his lute and moves to the center of the room.
Halina rushes off into the back room and returns with a mug of mead for
Astaldo.
Immoridin says "Thank you for the dance. It was lovely Tehannah"
Tehannah smiling up at Immoridin, "Thank you that was wonderful," taking her
seat and remembering just where she is..
Tehannah takes a seat at the Carved Table.
Genaro stops playing the Lute behind his back, assumes a more humble look
Ya'angren smiles to himself before speaking to Mala. "Perhaps we should speak
later my love. It seems that something else is about to occur." He pauses. "But
it would be nice to see Jayd again."
Tehannah caught up in the festivities, giggles again at Genaro's antics
Malandra nods before taking Ya'n's hand and leading him back over to their
table.
Malandra takes a seat at the Small Table.
Genaro wiggles his eyebrows at Malandra
"I did not take your inquisitiveness for prying. It is just a matter that the
Stump has decided for the Amyrlin's ears only." Marith responds in a calm Ogier
fashion.
Immoridin wipes the sweat from his brow with his kerchief before hiding it
beneath his cloak. He pulls out a chair and sits down, seeming somewhat tired.
Addressing everyone, "So..Are we having a good time?" His eyebrows work with
excitement.
Genaro throws his feathered cap up and it lands on Tehannah's head, "Yay!!!"
Malandra raises an eyebrow at the gleeman, but shrugs it off and smiles at him
instead before focusing her attention on the other gleeman as he addresses the
crowd.
Astaldo has partially disconnected.
Tehannah motions to the server to bring wine all around, "Let us toast to this
day."
Ya'angren takes a seat at the Small Table.
Aensen nods, and his face turns into concern. "I do hope it is not too serious
Eldest." He looks towards the humans in the room, with a slightly amused grin.
Halina looks to Astaldo at the mention of wine and frowns slightly. Seeing this
Astaldo stands and makes his way to Tehannah. "I am sorry Tehannah. We do not
serve wine. Perhaps simple grape juice instead."
Still adressing everyone, immoridin looks around the room trying to take
everyone in. "Yes a toast, And then we'll slow it down." He then begins to
pluck at the lute. Seeming to drag deep sounds out from within it.
Immoridin says "Juices will do, Master Astaldo"
Marith studies Aensen for a good, long time before giving a small nod of her
head. Whether that be a good sign, or a bad, is hard to discern. She keeps her
voice low as she speaks to the other Ogier, her brows knitting together and her
ears twitching back and forth, She mutters to Aensen, "Indeed,... is... may...
darkfriends ,... I believe... capable... handling."
Aensen senses "Marith studies Aensen for a good, long time before giving a
small nod of her head. Whether that be a good sign, or a bad, is hard to
discern. She keeps her voice low as she speaks to the other Ogier, her brows
knitting together and her ears twitching back and forth, "Indeed, it is. It is
a matter that may involve darkfriends, and one that I believe only the Amyrlin
herself capable of handling.""
Tehannah nods, that will be fine
Genaro Makes a look of disgust and horror, "Grape Juice?...Grape
Juice?......hmmmm"
Immoridinpromptly stops playing his eyes focusing on Marith.
Astaldo nods towards Immoridin before giving Halina a quick glance. The woman
rushes away and returns with a tray of juice which she then hands to all the
patrons individually.
Genaro takes a glass, and snarls at Halina
Halina shakes her head at Genaro's actions a bit of a smile on her face.
Aensen frowns, and shakes his head. His ears droop down, and he leans over to
Marith. He mutters to Marith, "... What... Stedding have anything... mean..."
You sense Aensen frowns, and shakes his head. His ears droop down, and he leans
over to Marith. "Darkfriends, Eldest? What can you and the Stedding have
anything to do about darkfriends? If I may ask, I mean..."
Astaldo turns quickly as he hears Marith's mutter.
Marith speaks a little louder, not that her voice can't be heard in part
anyway, "But, that is not a matter for us to get too deeply involved in."
Still, she speaks to Aensen, unware any others might have heard her rumbling
voice during her attempt at a quiet mutter.
Terus is /still/ trying to remember something, wracking his brain, and twisting
his face into a frown. He still should not be noticed, though.
Tehannah takes her juice and waits for the others to be served, then raises her
glass "To Astaldo, may the Light Shine on him and his establishment." then sips
her drink, turns to Astaldo, "I do hope you will continue to have these
wonderful affairs."
Genaro blows a kiss to Misty
Taking a glass from Halina, Immoridin raises it high in the air. " A toast. To
all of our friends here. May the Ligh protect us all." He says the last bit
looking directly at Marith. He then downs the whole drink as though dying of
dehydration.
Aensen nods in understanding to Marith's words. "I do hope that it turns out
well, Eldest. And may you and th rest soon return to the peace of the Grove,
with me along." He grins, trying to make light of their conversation.
Malandra smiles and nods in agreement as she hears all the toasts and doesn't
drink until all the comments are made.
Tehannah raises her glass, then sips again to Immoridin's toast..
Hearing Tehannah's words Astaldo suddenly snaps out of his study of the two
ogier. He looks up and smiles to the woman. "Kind words good Sage. Thank you. I
shall try." He glances towards Immoridin and Genaro for a second before
continueing. "But the real thanks should go to the fine Gleeman."
Catching Immoridin's gaze in her direction, Marith nods toward the man. Not
entirely getting what he meant, she adds her own words, "The blessing of the
Light and stillness upon us all." Worry cannot help but tinge her eyes, her
ears slightly wilted and telling part of her own concern over some matter or
another.
Tehannah smiles at Astaldo, then raises her glass again "To the gleeman......"
Aensen nods slowly, in agreement to Marith's words, and adds in his own. "Yes,
and to Peace."
Ya'angren raises his glass and nods to all the toasts before sipping at his
juice.
Marith turns her attention back to Aensen, "What did you do in Stedding
Quichen?" Her voice holds a curiosu note, though she did happen to catch
Astaldo glancing in her way as well. Puzzlement touches her features, still
completely unaware of anything that might have caused attention to be drawn to
herself and Aensen.
Genaro smiles at the toast
Immoridin breaks his gaze from Marith and resumes playing his lute. The notes
are light if a bit somber. He opens his mouth to delicately sing a few notes.
"How I missed thee, Sweet insomnia, My love, my Saviour, My poison."
Astaldo says "And to House Sulamaad. Supports of establishment. May the Light
protect there noble House."
Aensen's ears rise into points, and he smiles. "I was a wayguide, in Stedding
Quichen, Eldest. I was not one of the best, but I was good enough. But I was
also eager to see some of the world..." he suddenly looks a bit embarassed,
"though I am not as young as I used to be."
Tehannah acknowledges Astaldo's toast, then sits back allowing herself to be
taken up by the music again.....
Malandra raises an eyebrow as she hears her house's name mentioned, but nods as
she takes a sip of her drink, "Thank you Master Astaldo, I am so happy that
Ya'n found such a good worker to run the stall, may the light favor you as
well."
Immoridin continues to play singing all the while. "Perhaps the ties that
insist my freedom are those I wish be broken.
Ya'angren nods to Astaldo before drinking.
Astaldo looks to Mala and Ya'n and smile before studying the ogier again.
Genaro listens to the song, and gets melancholy
Immoridin sings, "A debatedly twisted fortunality: 'Nice guys finish last.'
This last is punctuated by the sounds from the lute as they become staccato and
high pitched.
If Marith were walking, she would have missed a step, "The Ways....?! You were
a guide?!" Her voice even rises a bit. She gives a slight shiver, as if shaking
off some unseen worry. A blush rises to her cheeks and she looks down to her
now empty soup bowl, which she makes a show of setting on a nearby table,
"Pardon my action, Aensen. None from Stedding Maotai have travelled the Ways
since our before the eldest prior to our last. I was young then, and taught
that all the Ways did was bring people and destruction to our beloved home.
Travelling amongst them was forbidden to us by our own Eldest."
Genaro sniffles
Tehannah turns to Genaro, She mutters to Genaro, "... sad... day filled with
joy... should... tales..."
Genaro smiles and perks up wiping a tear, He's a good Gleeman
Halina makes her way over and removes Mariths empty bowl with a slightly smile.
Immoridin slows his playing to a halt. He then takes in the room slowly and
nods to Tehannah. "You have all come here to hear a tale. And A sad one I bring
you today." He again wipes the sweat from his brow, still forming from dancing.
The other Ogier looks at Marith's reaction calmly, and lets out a rumble. "Yes,
I know of the sealing of the Waygate, Eldest. I must say I was quite upset.
Some would say I still am." His ears twitch a little. "But my travels have
lessened that upset, somewhat."
Tehannah smiles a knowing smile and settles back to listen...
Aensen pages: Hrmm... I'm trying to decide Aensen's age... he should've been
married by now if he's around 200+ years old, right?
Astaldo looks to the ogier again studying the younger slightly before turning
to seemingly listen to the tale.
Immoridin says "Before I begin, I would like to thank Astaldo for his
tremendous hospitality."
Genaro claps
Astaldo nods at Immoridin's words.
Tehannah nods
Genaro cap-clap-clap
Terus blinks, then claps along, even if he is unsure of what's going on.
Explorer comes through the door into the Soup Stall.
Immoridin turns his head looking for Halina. "And a special thanks to Halina. I
hope everyone tips you well dear."
Astaldo nods polietely to the new comer. "Please, come in. Make yourself at
home."
Genaro says "Yay! Here Here...HALINA!"
Explorer nods in return. "Thank you
Halina blushes at Immoridin's words. Even more so when Genaro adds in.
Tehannah nods to Explorer then returns her attentions back to Immoridin.
Malandra murmers something towards Ya'n before standing up.
Explorer thinks he should find a nice place in the corner out of everyone's
way.
Malandra mutters to Ya'angren, "If... I... something... the Manredi... other...
you... to..."
"We will not be using the Waygates to travel to Stedding Maotai. The gate there
is locked on the entrance side of the gate, not the exit." Marith continues to
ramble in her rumbling, musical voice. "We will need to go back by foot, as we
came. No matter how safe the Ways are, I am not too comfortable even going near
the gate near my home."
Immoridin smiles "And while youre up can you get us both some of that delicious
juice." He nods to Halina again.
Malandra leaves his seat at the Small Table.
Immoridin's eyes sparkle at the mention of the Manredi House.
Halina nods and rushes to fill the order.
Malandra smiles at everyone, "If you will excuse me, I'm afraid I have to be
somewhere else at the moment.. peace favor you all and thank you so much for
the wonderful.. entertainment," she says with a grin before turning back to
wait her husband's reply.
Genaro looks at Tehannah confused and distraught, "Juice?"
Ya'angren nods towards his wife before standing.
Malandra opens the oken door and gracefully steps out onto the Commons.
Ya'angren says "May the light illumine you all. Thank you."
Tehannah giggles at Genaro
Ya'angren opens the oken door and walks out onto the Commons.
Aensen frowns, and his ears lower to a droop. "I don't know much of the safety
of the Ways, myself, Eldest. If I do come to travel through them again soon, I
will have to try to find out what is going on there."
Immoridin bows to Ya'angren
Halina returns with the juice and sets it down gently.
"Going on there...?" Marith's own ears perk up to a point, her interest once
again piqued.
Genaro says "THANK YOU WONDEROUS HALINA!"
Immoridin sips lightly at the juice before he begins strumming the lute slowly.
Halina nods politely.
Aensen nods slowly, and his voice lowers to that of a large bumblebee. "I heard
that there were some things that happened the last time someone traveled
through the Ways, fairly recently." He shakes his head. "It may have been a
good idea to close the Gate at your Stedding after all, if this problem is
serious."
Immoridin begins to sing in a graceful, wonderful voice "If ever the chance I
obtain to end this heartwrenching pain..."
A grave expression touches Marith's features, "I pray to the Light that it is
not." She sighs softly, smoothing over her gown. She turns her attention
briefly to the gleepeople and the proprietors to the establishment. She bows
her head to them, then murmurs to Aensen, "I must beg pardon. I have need to
check on a few things before seeing whether or not the Amyrlin will have that
audience with me."
Genaro begins crying at the music
Tehannah hands Genaro a hanke
Immoridin sings. "May I always recall, What I take return all, And peace will
my soul yet attain."
Astaldo listens to the tale drifting off elsewhere in his mind.
Aensen nods. "Yes, thank you for your company, Eldest," he says, rising. "I
will see you again sometime."
Genaro blows his nose like a banshee chorus with a bad cold
Genaro hands the hankie back to Tehannah"thanks"
Marith nods her head just slightly to Aensen, murmuring gently, "Indeed, you
may." With that she starts to make her way to the exit, eyes moving curiously
toward the others a brief touch more.
