Finishing Touches
EVENT: The Ogier hold their final reconstruction effort in Tar Valon.
Speculation of sabotage runs ramprant, and may be proven true.
DATE: March 27, 1999
LOGGER: Marith and Tehannah (logs were combined for easier reading)
Starting Point - Ogier Grove
(Logged by Marith)
Ogier Grove: Tar Valon City, Tar Valon
Trees of every variety tower above you - leatherleafs, firs, oaks and elms.
Even the tallest of those is dwarfed by the mighty Great Trees, trees as tall
as many of the towers in the city, with trunks larger than some houses. Having
neither the haphazard appearance of a forest, nor the tame look of a park, the
Grove seems the very ideal of nature, the most perfect woods imaginable.
In the still tranquillity of the gloaming, it is possible to forget that the
city around the Grove even exists. Only the evergreens and firs still wear
their foliage, but there is a spartan harmony to these trees in the depths of
Winter. At the outer edge of the Grove is a low wall carved with endless
spirals that enchant the eye. An opening in the wall leads north, back into the
noise and bustle of the city.

Shu'Shanna(#4313PVc$)
Adune walks over from the direction of Treebrother Boulevard.
Marith is milling about with some of the other Ogier who've traveled from
Stedding Maotai to help with the construction efforts. She appears to frown
faintly at something she's heard, "What do you mean?" Her voice demands. "What
sort of trouble?" Her ears twitch back and forth in an agitated manner.
Adune reads a fictional book.
Shu'Shanna moves over to join Marith and the others
The Ogier male, Raegar, wilts his hears. He's a young apprentice stonemason to
Melikai, son of Hadir son of Karliel. "Just trouble. Things are going missing,
supplies and the like, Eldest. There have been a few accidents at the site as
well. It is disturbing. Even Davain is worried something will go wrong
tonight."
Surprise enters Marith's eyes at the words Raegar speaks to her, "Supplies
missing?" She nods to Shu'Shanna as she moves her way closer, though her ears
twitch in a distracted manner, "Accidents? Why have I not heard of any of this
before?" She crosses her arms before her, a very unreadable expression on her
features. She glances at the others about the area, "Have any of you heard of
the same?"
Krell walks over from the direction of Treebrother Boulevard.
As Marith turns her attention to the others, Raegar seems to wilt even more.
The young Ogier apprentice did not want to cause the Eldest any grief over the
matter, "The others felt that perhaps it was better not to worry you over the
matter. You have been so busy here Eldest. More so than even in the Stedding."
He swallows as he speaks before thinking.
Shu'Shanna nods her head in agreement to what Raegar has said.
Aiko walks over from the direction of Treebrother Boulevard.
The Eldests ears twitch back and forth worriedly, "Then perhaps we should stop
now, and allow the residents to finish their own work...." She speculates
quietly, "Or is this something that's going on between both sides?" By 'both'
she means both Ogier and humans. She redirects her question to Raegar, the
young Ogier apprentice she's talking to. "Or do any of you have suggestions."
Her attention falls on Shu'Shanna and Adune. She blinks as she just now
realizes that others have entered the area. "The blessings of the Light and
stillness upon you..." She speaks in a rather formal manner - a sure indication
that she's worried about something.
Shu'Shanna turns to Marith..."I feel we should go and help the humans finish
their town...it is what we came here to do and we should complete the task"
Nita walks over from the direction of Treebrother Boulevard.
Raegar glances to the others as well, as if looking into a spring of hope that
maybe someone will get him out of the mess he's gotten himself into by bringing
this matter before the Eldest. At her question, he sighs and lets out a gust of
air before continuing, "I do not know, Eldest. I only know that our own
supplies bought to aid the construction have been tampered with. I suppose,
however, that the others have been hampered in the same manner, explaining why
we have been so late in finishing this project. Even Davain is not pleased with
how fast things are going." He nods his head toward Shu'Shanna at her
suggestion, "I agree. I think if we walk away now, it would not bode well for
us in the end Eldest. Afterall, we did come here to help, and we promised to
give aid where we could. If we go back on our promise, we will be seen as
dishonorable in everyone's eyes."
Marith nods distractedly at Raegar, though her attention seems to remain on
Adune, "And you, what is your opinion of the matter?" The Eldest is used to
getting all opinions before deciding, taking her time in the true Ogier
fashion. She spies Nita as she enters the area, nodding to the young, talented
treesinger. It is not hard to tell that the Eldest is worried and upset about
something.
Nita walks in, the simple, brown dress she wears flowing around her in her
movements and the small breeze in the wind. Her ears twitch slightly, and she
smiles towards Marith and the others gathered. Though it falters a bit at the
Elder's mask of worry. She walks over, inquizzitiveness written loudly in her
eyes, yet she does not pose the question yet.
The young apprentice Raegar seems to side step toward Nita as he notices her
entering. Another apprentice might get some of the attention off of him. He
explains before Marith gets a chance to, "There are problems at the site.
Things are going missing, and people are getting cranky. They want their homes
back now. I think it's a good thing tonight is the last night we'll be working
on this. Davain says we should be fine, if all goes well."
Davin> Davin is barking out several commands and orders to some of the
organized men and Ogier, setting things into motion once again for a night of
construction. He pauses his words to glance at the new arrivals, nodding. "The
blessing of the Light and stillness upon you. Are you here to help us this
evening?"
Marith sighs resolutely, "Then if we are going to do this, we should be getting
there now. No doubt, Davin is having fits about some of the othes being late to
help him. For an Ogier, he has quite a temper." The Eldest rolls her eyes a
bit, "And an ego. No wonder things are going missing, if he treats Alindaer's
residents any worse than he does his new apprentice."
"Disappearing?" says Nita, ears fluttering. She seems not to comprehend this.
Who would have reason to take the tools used to rebuild the Village? "We will
be staying longer then?" A slight look of... something passes over her face,
then is carefully hidden.
Raegar nods his head to Nita, "Aye, Nita, disappearing. Poof, gone missing.
Davin is having fits over it all. All in all, we should not need to be staying
any longer after this evening's work. We have roofing to do, and some trim
work, and we are finished with everything but the minor details that the
residents can take care of, like decoration for finishing touches. Otherwise
they might get vines and flowers carved into the sides of their homes, and
Ogier hovels popping up." It is his attempt at some humor in the matter.
Nita nods as well, smiling slightly at Raegar. It would seem she failed to
catch the humor though. "I am certain it has been mislaid or something." she
says in her melodical voice. She turns her attention to Marith, inclining her
head. "Eldest." she greets, then waits for whatever cue Marith might give for
moving to the village.
Marith nods her head a bit, then starts to walk toward the exit. She pauses
when she spies Krell and the others, "We need other hands if you are willing to
help out."
Krell says "I would be glad to help."
Ninee walks over from the direction of Treebrother Boulevard.
Ninee smiles at Marith.
"Any help that you can give will be appreciated." Marith murmurs back to Krell,
"May the light particularly bless you this evening, good Master." She catches
sight of Ninee and smiles, nodding to the young woman.
Trillian walks over from the direction of Treebrother Boulevard.
Trillian walks north into Treebrother Boulevard, and quickly disappears into
the crowd.
Shu'Shanna says "I shall help all that I can Eldest"
Adune says "I shall also help all that I can Eldest"
Nita follows along with Marith, smile still on her lips.
Shu'Shanna falls into line with the others following Marith
Marith nods to Adune, and the other Ogier who echo the same respects. "Nita, we
will need your talents this evening to help with the grasse and the trees we've
cultivated for this very purpose. I wish to give the village a good send off
for when we do finally leave the city."
And with that Marith starts out of the exit once more. They continue until they
arrive in Alindaer Village.
Meanwhile, in Alindaer Village....

You leave the living room and walk out onto the street.
Alindaer Village: Alindaer, Tar Valon
The tidy little village of Alindaer seems be undergoing a rebirth. A great open
area has been cleared, and marking stones set out where the new Village Commons
will be. Several new buildings already ring that area, and the wooden skeletons
of several more are in progress. Large mounds of bricks and piles of lumber lay
at hand, and several large lorries are parked nearby. A large tent has been
erected, where the builders and masons can gather and plan and design.
The lights of Tar Valon can be seen twinkling on the river, just over the
bridge. A plume of mist puffs out of your mouth with every breath you take.
Snow spots the rooftops of the houses. Tar Valon lies to the north, over the
bridge which now hangs over the wasteland, severed from its landing, surrounded
by scaffolds. The road that lead toward Andor can be seen as it finally emerges
from under the slagged lava, a few leagues away. The road is impassable. The
neighboring village of Darein can be reached via a smaller road to the west.

Davin
Trandar walks into the village from the northwest, the direction of Darein.
Jayd arrives with Trandar.
Jayd smiles as recognizes the Sage. She walks towards the woman. "Tehannah, how
fare you this beautiful evening?"
Trandar nods to Tehannah as he enters the area, "Hello Tehannah, how are you
this day?"
Jayd smiles at the Ogier man after she has greeted Tehannah. "Glory to the
Builders," she says.
Tehannah looks up smiling.."hello welcome...how are you two doing this fine
night?"
Davin is barking out several commands and orders to some of the organized men
and Ogier, setting things into motion once again for a night of construction.
He pauses his words to glance at the new arrivals, nodding. "The blessing of
the Light and stillness upon you. Are you here to help us this evening?"
Jayd grins. "I am doing very well, thank you. My arm is almost completely
healed, only a small scar will remain, I think."
Trandar glances to the Ogier and smiles as he barks out orders, "Quite well,
friend Tehannah, and you?"
Jayd turns her gaze towards the Ogier. "If you desire my help, it is here for
the asking."
Tehannah smiles..."it is good to hear Jayd...and Trandar I am doing well and
look forward to the comming of the Ogier to finish the work to be done."
Kim walks off the bridge to the north.
Trandar smiles, "It looks to be soon," to the Ogier, "IF you wish us to help we
can?"
Jayd notices Kim out of the corner of her eye and grins towards her. "Kim! Over
here! How are you this eve?"
Kim grins at Jayd and walks over to her. "Hello. Oh, I'm fine."
Tehannah nods to the new person that has joined.."welcome"
Davin grumbles something, "If the othes ever get here, the work will be
completed this evening. Then the Eldest has promised a dance later in the week,
to help all celebrate."
Tehannah turns to Davin..."patience they will be here soon enough"
Kim stands, looking polite and curious. And quiet. She glances back,
occasionally, looking for other new arrivals.
Tehannah turns to the woman standing near..."I am Tehannah, Sage of
Alindaer...and you are? Jayd neglected to introduce us before she left"
Kim grins. "I'm Kim. Glad to meet you. You're a friend of Jayd's?"
Tehannah nods..."yes we have met a few times not but none had the time to
really talk"
Kim nods. She shifts her feet, and grins. "What's going to happen here,
tonight, exactly? Do you know?"
Tehannah smiles..."the ogier have been helping rebuild this town and they are
to finish tonight...they should be here very soon"
Kim nods, smiling briefly.
Marith walks into the village from the northwest, the direction of Darein.
Nita arrives with Marith.
Shu'Shanna arrives with Marith.
Krell arrives with Marith.
Adune arrives with Marith.
Ninee arrives with Marith.
Ninee tries not to gawk at the colorful surroundings, but she does of poor job
of avoiding it.
Tehannah looks up as the noise..."see they are here now" seeing a band of Ogier
march into town
Marith walks along the streets and stops as she gets to Alindaer. Behind her is
a large group of Ogier willing and able to get to work.
Kim turns and nods, watching the crowd curiously. Staying very much out of the
way.
Ninee nods.
Adune watches the Eldest march among the group of Ogier shouting encouragement.
Krell walks away from the Children of the Light Encampment.
Tehannah nods...and greets the ogier entering Alindaer
Jazmin walks into the village from the northwest, the direction of Darein.
Kim just watches the Ogier, with a smile of fascination. Will you look at
that...
Jayd walks into the village from the northwest, the direction of Darein.
Adune talks to the large group of Ogier and hears them say nothing but praise
regarding the Eldest.
Jayd nods and smiles at all those whom she knows and watches with the Ogier
with fascination.
Ninee smiles at Kim
Tehannah smiles at Kim..."they are a friendly and helpful bunch"
Kim smiles back at Ninee and nods, friendly. She nods to Tehannah.
Jazmin looks with wide eyes at all those around her.
Adune talks with one of the Ogier and tells him that his favourite fiction book
is The Lord of the Rings.
Adune hears the other Ogier say that his favourite characters in it are the
Ents because they aren't hasty
Krell agrees, the Ents are his favorites also.
Jayd walks up to Kim and taps her on the shoulder.
Trandar comes back to the area, after doing a brief scout and looks about for
his freinds. Once he spots Jayd and Kim, he moves that way.
Kim looks up at Jayd. Mmm?
Adune hears an Ogier say, "Aren't humans so hasty"
Jayd smiles at Kim. "How are you doing today? I have not had a chance to speak
to you in so long."
Kim nods. "Fine, just fine." Moving a little further away from the main
activity. "You?"
Krell makes his excuses and leaves.
Tehannah a grins appears on her lips after hearing the comments of the young
Ogier..and she begins to think of a pace much slower than this in her homeland
Ninee wonders how the Ogier came to choose this place to build?
Jayd joins Kim as she steps away from the activity. "I am doing very well,
thank you. How did your evening end up with Atif? He did not suceed in getting
you, um, /silly/, did he?"
Kim grins. "I was very silly. He was a perfect gentleman."
Adune leads the group of Ogier in a merry song called "The Happy Large Group of
Ogier"
Ninee grins at Adune
Adune grins back
An Ogier wearing a plain shirt and baggy trousers and a overcoat that flares
from the waist to the knees, he has short hair that covers the ears.
Jayd smiles. "Well, as long as you enjoyed yourself, and he behaved /himself/."
Ninee says "How did the Ogier choose this place, Adune. Perhaps you know?"
Adune has no idea
Trandar chuckles at the group of Ogier, but seeing as Kim and Jayd are intwined
in their own conversation he moves towards Tehannah to watch the group idly.
Shu'Shanna moves slowly with the groups to their destination
Kim nods. "I think that he behaved himself to an extent that was _almost_
insulting. Not quite, but nearly."
Adune hears the last lines of "The Happy Large Group of Ogier" fade away
Tehannah nods to Trandar.....
Jayd grins mischeviously. "I apologize, but that perhaps might be due to the
fact that I warned him that if he harmed a hair on your head, or was in any way
indecent, then he would have todeal with me."
Kim blinks at Jayd. "When did you do that?"
Adune hopes this doesn't develop into an argument
Jazmin continues to watch all the people with super wide eyes. Where did so
many tall people come from? And with hair in their ears? She shakes her head,
disbelieving.
Trandar returns the nod, standing beside her now watching the activity and
occasionnaly turning his from the commotion to look at her. He mutters to
Tehannah, "How... coming... seeming... late."
You sense Trandar returns the nod, standing beside her now watching the
activity and occasionnaly turning his from the commotion to look at her. "How
is our friend Alteri, doing? she has been coming home seeming quite exhausted
of late."
Jayd continues to smile. "While you were too busy with your drink. I meant no
offense, Kim, I was simply joking with the man."
Kim smiles. "Well, I'm sure that he knew that you were joking." Maybe.
Tehannah looks to Trandar.."I have not seen her of late"
A large table is set up at the edge of the work area. It appears to be filled
with a variety of foods catered to the various cultures working about the
village. Thes homes, overall, appear to be in their final stages of
reconstruction. Tonight will mark the last of the efforts put forth by the
Ogier.
Jayd rugs her chin, looking thoughtful. "I hope he did...My threat of tying him
up and leaving him to the wills of Cassandra was only an idle threat."
Adune just remembers that he hasn't had dinner and his stomach grumbles
Jazmin salivates at all that food. Her eyes grow slightly wider - how to fit
all that food into her tummy??
Marith catches wind of Ninee's question, "The Dragonmount erupted, and
destroyed most if not all of this village. Since we are known for our building
skills and working with stone, we accepted the plea for help from the High
Councillor Alderic."
Tehannah eyes the food in anticipation
Kim goes quiet, as the Official Events seem to be beginning. She just narrows
her eyes at Jayd. Mostly jokingly.
Jayd leans towards Kim and whispers into her ear.
Ninee smiles warmly at Marith
Trandar looks fully at Tehannah now, He mutters to Tehannah, "... her... in to
help..." as Tehannah looks off so does his eyes and he smiles slightly at all
the food.
You sense Trandar looks fully at Tehannah now, "You did let her step in to help
you though right?" as Tehannah looks off so does his eyes and he smiles
slightly at all the food.
Adune needs food.....now.....
Tehannah turning to Trandar..."that table remindes me I have not eaten
today...yes I showed her a few things but have not had much time to do more
then she stopped coming"
Ninee says "Will the Ogier stay on here, or leave these lovely buildings to
others when the work is complete?"
Raegar breaks off from the others, then goes over to his 'group' of people and
Ogier he's been working with since this project started. He seems worried, and
a little more nervous than usual. He picks up his hammer and starts to climb
the ladder to the roof. Being young, he's not of full height and weight yet,
and the building being of Ogier design can hold his weight.
Kim grins at Jayd, and nods.
"We will be leaving Tar Valon when our work is completed." The Eldest answers
Ninee, murmuring in a quiet rumble - which appears to be speaking level for
humans. "We miss our home and the trees, though if there is a need for us to
stay longer, we will consider it. After the building is completed, I'll be
hosting a party for the workers later in the week."
Adune leads the group of Ogier in a song entitled "Let's Eat"
Ninee nods.
Shu'Shanna joins into the song
A group of Ogier and humans mix together, holding casual conversation as they
work on one of the larger buildings nearing completion. Up on the roof, the one
of the humans holds his hand out to the Ogier assisting him. A box of tiles is
handed upward, and the two exchange thanks.
Trandar hmms and nods, "I see, I guess I will talk to her next I see her... see
what she is doing with herself... shall we get some food then?"
Kim says, "Well, I think I'm just a Curious Bystander. I'd be eating under
false pretenses." She does start, though, to weave through the work toward the
food.
Adune says "Can we eat now, Eldest?"
Davin strolls over the the Eldest after he catches sight of Raegar leaving the
group. He wears a scowl on his features, which he wipes away when he gets to
Marith, "I see Raegar has been talking to you, against the wishes of the
others." He crosses his arms before him, then turns his attention to Adune -
looking him up and down.
Marith holds a hand out to stall Davin, answering Adune first, "Yes, you may."
She comments, then turns her attention back to Davin, "Raegar was doing what he
thought best. In truth, I should have been told long ago. Perhaps I could have
asked the High Councillor to make certain the area was under more guard that it
presently is."
Trandar straightens a little looking about, as what seems talk of potential
trouble?
Tehannah listens silently to the Eldest and Davin.....
Adune also listens to the Eldest and Davin.....
Taken back a little by the Eldests words, Davin gives quick nod, "Of course
Eldest. I am sorry for not having done so earlier. We did not want to
needlessly worry you, not with the matter you needed to discuss with the
Amyrlin and all."
Several Ogier children can be seen running off in the distance, playing some
game foreign to the humans about the area. They have a large ball between them,
bouncing it back and forth. One of the human children, not too timid to join
in, goes to the group and is soon seen playing with those about. Observant
mothers take care to watch, with a some what uneasy silence between them. The
Ogier children are much bigger than the human mothers are used to accepting.
Kim looks back at Trandar, slightly impatiently. Well, _he_ suggested food,
after all.
Trandar looks to Tehannah, "Excuse me for a bit please." He moves over closer
to Marith, and smiles politely nodding his head to her.
Adune watches as a ball hits a human child a little too hard and sends him
tumbling into the grass.
Ninee smiles gently at Marith, she seems to remember some old stories her
father told her about meeting the Ogier long before she was born, but then her
father had always been full of stories.
"The blessings of the Light and stillness upon you, Master Trandar." Marith
greets the man coming closer to her, remembering his name. Distracted as she
is, however, her attention soon goes back to Davin, "Perhaps Raegar should be
an example to you and all the others. I can not make the decisions I need to
make if secrets are being kept from me. Be certain to keep your eyes open for
any trouble. I do not want any accidents happening this evening." Her voice
holds a stern note to it, though she tries to keep it low - which means a dull
roar to human ears.
Kim considers the food, grins at the game, and starts off back to the city.
Ninee says "Elder, I cannot but overhear the talk of trouble, I hope no one has
been making your people feel unwelcome."
Adune rushs to the food and eats ravenousely with a look in his eyes that
suggests that he hasn't had food for a long time...
Davin bows once more to Marith, then glances around at the others, "You..." He
points to Adune and Trandor both, "If you are here to help, the please get
busy. There's tiling on the roofs to be finished, trim work to be done,
painting and a goodly number of other things." Workers can be seen doing their
job all over the village, aiding one another where possible. He then glances to
Shu'shanna, "And you.... I suppose you had best either help the women or come
help paint.:
Trandar looks to Marith, "And may the blessings of the Light and stillness fall
upon you as well, Eldest Marith..." he pauses, glancing to the others, "If I
may ask, what trouble has taken place?"
Kim walks north, onto the bridge.
Adune finishes his food and gets to work
Adune climbs up on a roof with the aid of a ladder and places a tile that a
human hands him in place
As soon as Davin walks away, Marith turns her attention to those asking
questions of her. She answers Ninee first, which consequently helps to answer
Trandar's questions as well, "I've just been informed that certain tools and
supplies have started going missing, and that there have been accidents over
the site. It freezes my heart to think that any harm would come to those
attempting to aid such a worthwhile effort."
Shu'Shanna savoring her meal...goes to see where she can be of help
Adune accepts another tile from the human and places it on top of the roof
Several elders appear to be grouped together with one or two of the Tar Valon
Guard. They appear to be talking about several of the rumors and worldly
matters running about the city. Talk is sometimes turned to the Ways, and
whether or not anyone from Stedding Maotai has travelled within them. This
brings looks and gazes in the general direction of the Eldest from time to
time.
Ninee raises her left brow... Theft? Can the people be so poor as to be willing
to take what they think they need that way?
Trandar hmms and nods, "I am sorry to hear of what has happened friend Ogier,
if you wish I can go now and quickly get a few guards to come keep their eyes
open." his eyes already set to scanning the crowd looking for possible suspects
and troublemakers
Adune places another tile on the roof
Ninee shyly approaches Shu'Shanna to ask how she can help with the project. Did
someone mention painting? Does that take much skill?
Adune climbs off the roof and admires the fine job he has done.
Davin spies Ninee's movements, grunting a bit. THis particular Ogier is unusal
with the chip on his shoulder, hasty rather than slow and calculating, "You
would like to help?" He does remain polite though, to someone who looks like a
potential worker.
"I do'
Ninee smiles at Davin and nods
Adune tells Davin that he has finished tiling a roof.
"I don't think that will be necessary. I am hoping that with everyone working
and aiding one another that they'll see that we are here to do good. I would
even offer to build a home for another out of our own pockets if they are so
desparately in need. Though some believe that accepting aid from others damages
their pride and their honor." Marith answers, her ears wilting as she sighs.
Ninee says "Sad thought, that pride won't allow help. When I'm tempted to think
that way I tell myself that to allow someone to help is to give the gift of
nobility to them... we help each other. Goes down easier."
Davin points at several paint buckets, "Then you can help paint the sides of
the houses. Just a simple coat will do, to help seal the cracks and things
against the weather. We have an agreement with the residents that we'll do some
of the finishing work, but they still have to do a majority of their own
decorative and completion work." He spies Adune's work being completed, then
adds, "If you wish, you can help Mistress...." He blinks, then he blushes - an
odd sight on Davin, the proud. "I did not get your name ma'am." He speaks to
Ninee.
Ninee examines a few paint brushes, picking them up, testing the bristles with
her fingers
Shu'Shanna picks up a bucket of paint and moves to one of the many buildings to
be done
Ninee says "My Name is Ninee, Davin"
Trandar nods, "as you wish, eldest Marith, and I'm sorry for the actions of
those that are unknown to your good cause. I'm sure they will soon see the
error in their ways. Please, do not let it damage the good festivities of this
night." he pauses, "Is there anything I can help /you/ with?" he seems to ask
of Marith only so Davin want jump on his case again, while he is trying to help
all.
Adune climbs up on another roof and asks another Ogier to hand him a tile
Davin bows formally to Ninee, "Your name sings in my ears, Mistress Ninee." He
glances back to Adune, "You can help Mistress Ninee with the painting."
Ninee selects a can of paint and finds a clean stick to stir it a bit so that
the color will be even, the consistency uniform
After giving instructions to the others, Davain backs away and marches off to
another group of Ogier, working on the building to be used for the Town
Council, or something serving in a similar aspect. As always, this young Ogier
appears to be preening with pride as he starts to bark off another set of
orders.
Adune places the tile on the roof
Every now and again Raegar glances up from his work, ears twitching back and
forth in an uneasy manner. He jumps a the sound of tiles falling from one of
the roofs, hitting the ground below, then makes a sign against the Dark One -
warding off any danger that might lurk. Even Ogier can be superstitious.
Adune says "as you wish"
Nineedrops the stick and dips in the paint brush, she puts the first stroke on
the raw wood and is facinated with seeing the change.
Adune climbs off the roof
Adune selects a can of paint
Adune selects a brush and tests its durability
Marith nods her agreement with Davin, "Your name sings in my ears as well
Mistress Ninee." She smiles encouragingly as the young woman starts to pitch in
and help. ASs Trandar speaks, she turns her attention back to him, "Do not
apologize for the others. Their crimes are not your burden to bear." She smiles
gently at Trandar, "If you can aid some of the workers, or know how to use a
hammer or what not, it would be appreciated."
Ninee smiles at Adune, dripping a bit ofpaint on her slipper. Ah well, it will
make it brighter
Over by the table of foods, a ruckus can be heard. Mothers race after their
children, as a food fight starts between Ogier and humans alike, in an attempt
to put a stop to the small warring tirade.
Adune paints the side of a house
Ninee chuckles at the children, though she knows their parents would not
appreciate her amusment
Ninee says "Nice that they are so carefree."
Adune is startled as a human child trips and falls into him, spilling the paint
all over him
Adune says "yeah...carefree...."
Ninee gasps
Tehannah moves to gently help the child up...wiping him off in the process
Trandar nods, "As you would like, Eldest Marith," he smiles, and starts off to
a location that needs help, grabbing a hammer smoothly as he walks by
Adune can't help but laughing as he looks at himself covered in paint
Tehannah chuckles at the sight
Ninee grins at Adune and pats the child's shoulder. "You will get a strange
reputation decorating workers
Adune grins a grin that would send sane people scampering up into trees.
Trandar chuckles at the sight, then sets to work hammering nails in as he
places a board in the proper spaces.
Raegar glances over at the commotion, nearly jumping of fright when he hears
the child's cry. With all that's been going on, it's a wonder he's got his wits
about him, or had them when he talked to the Eldest. Seeing just what occured,
he blushes, turning rather crimson.
Nineehides her laughter by turning back to her work, you would think that wall
were the only thing in the world ...
Adune resumes his work, suppressing another fit of laughter
Marith walks her way through the village until she comes upon one of the tables
set up for the evening's meal. She takes a few vegetable pieces and starts to
nibble on them as she observes the work.
A young Ogier woman stands alone, in an unobtrusive place. She appears to be
content on watching what is going on around her. One of the children walks up
to her with a bundle of flowers in their hand. She smiles and takes them,
giving the child one of her hair clips in turn; a gift for a gift. She sleeps
the flowers, then cradles them carefully in her hands.
Shu'Shanna continues to paint...slowly, carefully as her strokes keep
resembling vines and flowers and the humans would not appreciate that
Adune in a sudden artistic inspiration draws the Ogier woman with the flowers
on the side of the house.
Ninee begins working on the next stroke of paint, she hopes her work is careful
enough, not too streaky to satify the Ogier
Marith coughs slightly, "We are not here to decorate." She issues a warning,
"Just paint the houses as needed, in the colors provided for each one."
Adune says "sorry, Eldest"
Adune says "I just wanted the humans to always remember acts of kindness"
"Just remember, we will not be living here, and they'll know the act of
kindness. Without our aid, their homes would not have been built so quickly."
Marith smiles warmly at Adune's entusiasm.
Shu'Shanna startled at the voice of the Eldest...begins to sadly but carefuly
paint over the beautiful decorations...and mumbles.."sorry Eldest"
Several tools and a can of nails haphazardly balanced on one of the roofs
topple and fall to the ground toward an unsuspecting Ogier and a young human
woman, shaken by the footfalls of one of the men tiling the roof.
Adune paints over his picture of the Ogier woman
Tehannah looks up at the noise and quickly moves to the seeing if all are ok
Trandar sees the can falling, "Lookout!"
Ninee thinks the exhuberant paint sketches were lovely and is a bit sad to see
them painted over. She knows she couldn't do better.
Without any warning issued, the tools fall hard on both the woman and Ogier
involved. Hammers, chisels and other various items dig into the flesh, as
puncture wounds incur as the nails break lose from the can, which topples to
the ground harmlessly after bouncing off the lady's head. A loud scream can be
heard coming from them both, the warning shouted too late.
Adune gasps
Tehannah jumps clear of the falling debri but is unable to push the others to
safety
Ninee turns her head quickly to look at the tradgety, hoping things are not as
bad as they seem
Adune says "ARE THERE ANY MEDICS HERE!"
Trandar drops the hammer and moves quickly to the apothocary. Knowing Tehannah
will want some stretchers.
Tehannah nods to Trandar..."and quickly"
Shu'Shanna moves to the scene to see what help she can be
Adune says "Let's get some Healers here...QUICK!"
Both Ogier man and human woman writhe in pain on the ground, a dismal sight
indeed. The woman attempts to pull a nail from her arm, where it imbedded
itself. She lets out a small moan of pain as she does so.
Adune says "Do we have any healing herbs, Eldest?"
Ninee shivers at seeing the nail pulled from Tehannah's flesh, that had to hurt
Tehannah turns to Adune..."i am the Sage here and you may feel free to use my
Apothecary to provide what you need"
Trandar exits the Apothacary carrying two sets of stretchers, one for each
injured and makes the way to where the trouble took place, "Let me through!"
Adune says "ok"
Tehannah quickly applies a golden herb to her wound, wraps her arm and contiues
her work on the others..."Adune what do you require"
Adune says "What do you think would be best?"
Marith turns to see what all the commotion is about. She blinks, eyes widening,
as the tools and other items fall onto the Ogier and the woman. "Oh Light." is
all she can manage ot say.
Adune lifts up the Ogier woman and places her on the stretcher
In mid-hammer, Raegar's own eyes widen brightly. He lets his hammer fall,
hitting his own thumb, "Owww!" He howls, stumbling over himself from where he
sits upon one of the roofs.
Trandar travels through the path, people slowly make as the realize Trandar
comes behind them prodding them with wooden poles and such. then sets the
stretcher down.
Tehannah looking over the scene..."Trandar, Adune please help me get this woman
inside...carefully do not jar her...Marith...please have one of your people
bring the Ogier in"
Marith nods quietly, then motions for several of the Ogier. They go over to
their injured party and carefully carry him, following Tehannah.
Adune carefully lifts the woman up trying to not touch any wounds
Trandar looks back at the crowd forming, "Keep that path clear!"
Tehannah motions to those carrying the injured..."come to Rainbow Apothecary
and place them on the cots"
Adune places the woman, with the help of Marith, on the stretcher.
Ninee gnaws her lip. She is not much of a judge of health or injury and hopes
this is not as serious as it may appear to be. She also wonders what could have
caused the accident. The Ogier do not impress her as being nearly as clumsy as
herself.
Trandar moves to pick up one side the stretcher and starts to lift waiting for
someone to pick up on the other side.
Adune picks up other side
Adune lifts up stretcher with the help of Trandar
Trandar grunts slightly then starts to move backwards easily and swiftly, his
feet falling to the ground it easy sure movements, as he watches over his
shoulder, careful not to make any sudden motions or what not. Apparently this
is not the first time he has helped carry wounded.
Davin has everyone back to work again, "Alright, alright. We've a deadline to
meet, and if we are to finish this evening we can not have everyone gawking
about at an accident. We've all seen freak things happen before." Some of the
others begrudingly go back to work.
Adune copies Trandar's motions
Adune says "Let's hurry to the Rainbow Apothecary!"
Ninee fishes the brush out of the paint can where she dropped it. She uses the
hem of her skirt to wipe the handle clean... as much as can be, and gets back
to useful work
Trandar slows the pace as they near the door of the apothecary, looking first
to Adune to make sure he understands. THen about, "Can someone get the door?!"
Tehannah swiftly move into the apothecary leaving the door open for the others
Rainbow Apothecary: Alindaer, Tar Valon(#3827RM$)
You see a large room with shelves everywhere. Upon the shelves are many bottles
and jars filled with various strange sounding herbs and tonics. Many books fill
one area. In the corner is Tehannah's large desk. There is a table with a few
chairs round it and many other chairs scattered round the room. A few small
cots are seen against the walls.
Lamps are lit and curtains drawn. The brisk chill of Winter is in the air. On
the west wall is the door leading to Das Fabrication Shop and on the south wall
is a door leading to the Mel'on Field. On the east wall is a curtened entrance
leading to the Sickroom, a place for the ill to rest and sleep easy.

Adune has arrived.
Trandar has arrived.
Tehannah motioning to the wall..."here place them on the cots move two together
if you need"
Trandar quickly enters and makes the route to a cot.
Tehannah gathers a number of powders and flasks from the shelf and moves over
to the victoms.."does anyone know their names?"
Adune places the woman on the cot
Ninee says "It sounded as if Elder Marith called one of them Light..."
Ninee looks at Adune "unless that would be a kind of prayer for your people?"
Ninee nods
Adune says "well that's kind of a prayer..."
Adune says "The Light is our creator"
Ninee smiles at Adune
Ninee says "Is she conscious?"
Tehannah moves to the woman, who is hurt...and after a swift inspection places
some powders on her wounds after carefully cleaning the debris from them.."ah
she will be ok it looks worst than it is" adding some bandages to the womans
arm and ribs..then giving her some tea.."Kiah will have to stay her for a
couple of days for observation and this tea will put her to sleep comfortably
for the night"
Ninee nods
Adune says "I wonder what happened?Ogier aren't that clumsy."
Tehannah turning her attention to the Ogier...cleans the wounds and applies the
herbs.."you were very lucky it is your size that has saved you from major
harm..here drink this tankard of tea and sleep the night in the morning we
shall see if you are able to return home"
Ninee hides a yawn behind her hand
Tehannah turning to the others...shooing them outside..."go let these two rest
from their ordeal Maria will watch over them now"
Ninee smiles to Tehannah and heads toward the door
Trandar nods, "Later Tehannah... I will try and get Alteri back to work soon."
Trandar says "and thank you for your help with Mistress Maggae."
Tehannah nods.."you are very welcome come let us go outside and see what we can
learn of this accident"

Ninee smiles.
Trandar has arrived.
Shu'Shanna turns and leaves the village seeing nothing more will be acomplished
tonite.
Shu'Shanna walks north, onto the bridge.
Ninee says ""have you been in this village long?"
Trandar goes over to where the accident occured, studies the groung then looks
up and gets a ladder.
Ninee squats, then settles on the groundl, curling her legs underneath her.
Ninee presses her back against one of the walls of the new houses and hopes she
will not be much noticed. She considers that she has often slept in worse
places, and the activity is sure to accompany morning will wake her in plenty
of time to greet the new day.
Trandar takes the ladder and puts it against the wall, carefully, the tiles
teetering at just the pressure of the ladder. "Um..."
Rhylla walks into the village from the northwest, the direction of Darein.
Trandar starts up the ladder tentatively.
Rhylla enters the village proper, giving the CoL camp as wide a berth as she
can.
Tehannah looks up at Trandar.."be cautious...do you see anything strange?"
Trandar gets to the top of the ladder and slowly gets on the edge of the roof
and keeps his eyes focused on the roof not wanting to see the ground. He gives
the area a once over. Then draws a sword poking at the edge of the roof.
"Nothing that looks out of the ordinary except for how wobbily the tiles are up
here..."
Rhylla frowns, watching the others curiously. She raises her gaze to the roof,
scanning what she can see of it.
Trandar sheathes the sword then starts back down the ladder carefully, eyes
forward not looking down.
Trandar finally gets to the bottom then walks over to Tehannah. "Looks to have
just been a little careless activity"
Tehannah nods.."ok but I still feel something is not right...I must go and
check on my patience..keep your ears and eyes open and I shall see you
tomorrow"
Trandar nods, "Will do tehannah."
Tehannah bids Trandar farewell turns and enter the Apothecary
