>>>>>[In Shadowrun, each megacorporation possesses asset ratings which indicate their various business interests and areas of operations. These ratings represent a corp's potential and actual worth, output, and productivity in a given Major Interest, or their overall performance, in the case of the Operations Categories.
==>Runners Take Note: the stats presented here represent a "quarterly snapshot" of each megacorp at the time of this posting (ie. these rating are subject to change without prior notice!).]<<<<<

OPERATIONS

Fiscal

Fiscal operations involve the corp's financial worth and stability, determining its ability to conduct all of its operations. Reflecting the importance of money to business, the Fiscal Asset Rating determines the maximum Asset Rating for all other operational assets (except Reputation). Fiscal assets also serve as resources that a corp can use to increase productivity in a major interest, counteract losses in a major interest, or affect intelligence, management, or security assets. The allocation of fiscal resources can also affect the corp's reputation.

Intelligence

The Intelligence Asset Rating represents the corp's potential and actual intelligence performance. As with fiscal assest, intelligence assets can also function as resources to bolster interest areas, counter losses, or to enhance the corp's other Operations assets (other than Reputation).

Management

This asset refers to the management activities of a corp's executives (ie. 'suits' ) and middlemen. It reflects the quality of their performance. Like intelligence assets, management assets also serve as operational resources.

Reputation

This rating indicates how positively or negatively the general public perceives a corp. Unlike the other Asset Ratings, the Reputation Asset Rating directly affects a corp's Fiscal Asset Rating.

RatingReputation
1-2The corp is slime, the lowest of the low, disreputable and immoral.
3-4The public regards this corp with disfavor.
5-6The public neither likes nor dislikes the corporation.
7-8The public thinks well of the corp, but few think it perfect.
9-10The public regards the corp with almost universal favor. The corp can do no wrong.
11+The corporation is god.

Security

Security Asset Ratings are overall evaluations of a corp's security capabilities. They are designed to reflect the general feel of the level of protection present in each security area. However, they do not determine the level of security at a specific sight or around a specific person, project, or datafile. Security operations cover four sub-areas of protection: magic, matrix, physical, and military. The first three help determine a corp's power and influence (and each, therefore, has its own Security Asset Rating)

RatingSecurity Level
0The corp has no security worth the name.
1-2Poor security; simple protection, rudimentary opposition.
3-4Adequate security; the corp is prepared for most occurances. Challenging for amatures, but routine for pros who do not slip up.
5-6Good security; the corp protects its sites with well-trained and prepared forces. Those going against these security measures need to be careful and equally prepared.
7-8Excellent security; effective and creative security measures that pose a challenge for top professionals.
9-10Outstanding security; these extensive, effective, well-integrated systems require craftyness and thorough planning to beat.
11+Dominating security; only the highest-caliber pros or the most creative and crafty runners have any hope of penetrating these defenses.

Magical Security

Lower levels of magical security involve off-site magical resources such as hired mages, or limited on-site presences such as part-time wage mages and limited, site-specific magic protection. Mid-level protection involves on-staff mages, active spirit or other astral patrols, lower-level wards, and anchored spells. High-level protection involves powerful on-staff mages, strong wards, aggressive astral patrols, and so on.

Matrix Security

Low-level protection involves high green Security Ratings and white IC that trigger alerts to outside security agencies. Mid-level protection involves orange Security Ratings, white and/or gray IC that triggers alerts to internal security assets, and on-site corp deckers. High level protection involves red Security Ratings; white, gray, and black IC; and active internal Matrix security assets.

Physical Security

Physical security refers to both living security assets such as guards or paranimals and technological assets such as alarm systems and countermeasures. Low-level protection involves simple entry restrictions and the occasional guard patrol. Mid-level protection involves more sophisticated entry protection, active security surveillence, frequent security patrols, and active internal post-entry alarm systems. High-level security involves advanced entry restrictions, constant surveillence, active security patrols (possibly including paranimals), and incredibly sophisticated internal post-entry alarm systems.

Military Security

The largest megacorporations field military units in addition to their regular security forces. Unlike magical, matrix, and physical security, military security forces have no Security Asset Rating because they do not help to determine a corp's day-to-day influence. Currently, no corp fields more than a full regiment of troops. In almost all instances, the battalion and larger units are combined-arms forces, incorporating air, ground, sea, and possibly space elements. The six general levels of quality are poor, below average, average, above average, excellent, and exceptional.

SizeComposition
Squad9 men, usually Special Forces or Shadowrunners.
Platoon3+ squads, about 30 men.
Company3+ platoons, about 100 men.
Battalion5 companies, about 500 men.
Light Regiment2 battalions, about 1000 men.
Full Regiment4 battalions, about 2000 men.

NET RATING

The Net Rating represents an evaluation of a corporation's overall quarterly performance and standing. To determine a corp's Net Rating, add up all of its Asset Ratings, except those for security. To find the overall Asset Rating for security, average the Asset Ratings in each security sub-area and round down. Add this value to the total of all the other Asset Ratings. The final sum, the Net Rating for the quarter, determines a corp's standing in the business world. Note that a corp must have a Net Rating at least 10 points higher than a competitor to have a true advantage over it.
