in 2001. We have known Judith a long time, and our own daughter Judith's having the same first name
is not entirely coincidental.

Sarah, Judith, and Kathy, two daughters and their mother, among the spectators at the spring

entire spring that year.
Sarah and her cello before a 2000 concert of the Brooklyn, NY community orchestra. Now that Sarah
is living in Washington, DC, she's a member of the cello section of the Georgetown Symphony.

Sarah and a cat , not hers, are pictured here. When Sarah saw an earlier version of this page
of photographs she immediately protested that it did not have any cat pictures, so this (and the
next) picture is in response to her complaint. You can't tell much about the cat except that it's
furry, but that's about all that is required for Sarah to immediately love it.
Judith's cat is shown here living the life of the city pet, lazing in the window of Judith's apartment.
Judith is busily trying to master juggling, something she does with her schedule
all the time, but which she has not yet mastered with physical objects.

Here's a picture of Kathy and Judith in our Salisbury kitchen at Christmas 1995.
Kathy and daughters in our kitchen celebrating a big birthday in September 2001. Kathy, queen
of the day, is demonstrating how to blow out all the candles on a cake.
This picture is of Kathy and me, taken by my sister Liz Babcock, during a July 1995 vacation
trip to Mammoth Lakes, California. Maybe we weren't so scenic, but the Sierra Nevadas certainly
were.
And here is a picture of the entire group in the California vacation. The four people, from left
to right in the front of the picture are George Hayne, Liz Babcock, Kathy Hayne, and Gary
Babcock, and the couple at the rear are Betsy and Herb LePlatt. Gary is Liz's ex-husband, and
Betsy Babcock LePlatt is Liz and Gary's daughter.

in California of Liz's son Clay in Fall 2002.
