Yes friends, we do live in an area that, from time to time can and will

experience sever weather (but so does any other area you could live in).

By being prepared you can minimize your danger and protect your

property. Follow your common sense and listen to you local officials.

These local officials are trained and know how to make the proper

decisions to protect you and your property.  Before, during and after

a storm, tune in your local radio station listed on the "Are You At Risk"

page.  Listen and follow the official instructions as they are broadcast.

To request help, look in your local telephone directory under local

county government "Emergency Services". If you have an emergency

dial "911".  Please remember an emergency is "Life, Limb or Property",

not your cat in a tree.  During times of sever weather the 911 centers

are very busy, so only call if you have a true emergency.

I have lived on Delmarva for over 50 years and have survived

many hurricanes and a March 1962 flood on Chincoteague.  With a

few precautions and some common sense, damage will be minimal

and life will go on.
