6th Annual Eastern Shore Regional Poetry Winners

The Sixth Annual Regional Poetry Contest sponsored by the Caroline, Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne's, and Talbot County Arts Councils, will present this years winners with cash awards in Centreville on Thursday, April 26 at 7 p.m. There were over 200 entries received this year and included some class project entries. The prize money for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place is $100, $50, and $25 respectively, and is judged in four separate categories: children/youth, student, adult and senior entries.

The contest was established to recognize and encourage writers of all ages. Since the first contest in 1996, over 1,100 entries have been received. As in prior years, the winner’s works represent a wide range of poetic styles and subjects. A public reading of each winning poem will be presented by the authors at the awards event.
