Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of posture and breathing techniques with an emphasis on the standing poses. Instructor Phyllis Johnston
has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. Come explore the ancient system of body and breath movements to relax, renew and energize your body and mind. Join Phyllis on Thursday, 1/11 at the Arts Council building in Centreville, for a free introductory class. Bring a blanket or towel to sit on. 2/5 - 4/30 (no class on 2/19, 3/26 or 4/16) 10 sessions $95 members $105 non-members 1/17 - 3/21 10 sessions $95 members $105 non-members 1/18 - 3/22 10 sessions $95 members $105 non-members Materials needed:
"sticky mat" a 1/8" thick non-slip mat designed specifically for yoga practice available for purchase ($15) through the instructor at the first class. Also needed are a wool or cotton blanket and a belt or fabric strap approximately 6 feet long. Missed classes may be made-up at either location during the winter season.
