Award winning photographer James L. Amos will share his talent and skill with amateur photographers interested in learning technique and aesthetics. Students will be taught the technical aspects of photography including lighting, exposure, choice of equipment, filters, optics, exposure, and the effective use of nature and the color of light. As a former photographer for National Geographic, Jim has field experience that includes photographing landscapes, people, nature, still-life and employing advanced computer techniques. Beginning and intermediate students wanting to improve their skills will find this course useful. Away assignments will be given. Bring a 35mm single lens reflex camera (no point and shoots), a tripod is recommended and 100 speed slide film is preferred. Students are responsible for buying and having film developed.
