TITLE

...in any case, we went to the spring networld, a frenzy indeed, every nook and cranny of the net was represented, a lot of big players, with teleconferencing in real time being the star.

voice-delivery systems that bypass long-distance telephone service are manna from heaven for the computer industry, but there is, of course, "a fly or two in the ointment".

discussed that aspect with a member of the computer press who said he believed the game will change when the government intervenes to collect taxes.

it's safe to assume that true love will flourish between telecommunications giants and government officials, they have such an affinity for one another.

anyway, the software i tested works if the other party has the same software, a test version is availiable for downloading. from an ftp site near you.

3d was big as well and everyone was following on the java coattails. (look at them little suckers move.)

the best booth was from luckman designed by an old friend joe spencer,it looked like it had just come to earth from space, with support people in great dark nehru suits with gold buttons kind of quasi-military.

for under 250.00 they had a product called net commander that really does have all the web bits and pieces you need including a web yellow pages with rated sites, the yellow pages is availiable separately.

i also saw many folks with software that converts any document into html, if there is an idea there seems to be a software ready for market.

the phone stuff can be acessed at http;//www.vocaltec.com. i am going to try it out. give me a call.

there still seems to be a discrepancy about what platforms all the goodies are availiable for, with mac users standing on the last platform waiting for a train that may or may not be coming.

curiously absent was the 500 dollar web access device, i guess the bugs are still being worked out. lots of people were promoting java big time and next week here in san francisco, there will be a whole conference for java users.

we did manage to have a grat meal at il forniao, great breadsticks and calamari, love those squid legs, by the way it was 95 degrees in san jose, too damn hot.
