To Holland With Love
by Geert Merklebach

Something I didn't think of when we were setting up the WebCam was that it is also a great opportunity to show my friends and family in Holland how I was doing. When I told them that we had a web-cam, the first couple of e-mails that I recieved back were requests.

"We haven't seen you for quite some time now, go stand in front of the camera we want to see you."

Especially my girlfriend really liked to see such a current picture of me on the web. Being able to e-mail each other already keeps me in close contact with my friends and family but this WebCam definitely adds a new dimension to it. Now the pictures are still updated but it's only a matter of time to where we have the possibility to exchange actual real time video across the web.

The way we experience the World Wide Web right now is just the beginning. With all these creative minds searching for, and working on, new features for the internet there is still a lot to come. That is why it is so cool to be part of the cyber society right now. Just like a lot of people still remember the first TV in their city, we will remember the first WebCam on Delmarva.

I just wish they had a WebCam back home so I could see them too......
