Why has Bob Dole come out in favor of the movie Independence Day? Is this really the kind of family movie he would like to see coming out of Hollywood?
For those of you who haven't already seen the film, It
centers around Will (Fresh Prince) Smith. Will plays an
American fighter pilot who is shacking up with a stripper. The
stripper, or exotic dancer, is also an unwed mother. Now that's
the kind of family values that made America great.
Maybe Bob just likes the idea of a government agency that conspires to conceal vital information from the public and our elected officials. Unfortunately this conspiracy is one of the reasons the alien attack was so destructive to our society.
It could be that Citizen Dole likes the idea of an aging alcoholic pilot (Randy Quaid) not being incumbered by federal regulations. Could the drunken Quaid represent the free spirited entrepreneurs rebelling against burdensome safety guidelines.
Could it be that Bob Dole just likes the idea of using
atomic weapons against American citizens? In the movie the
president orders a nuclear strike against Houston. After all
George Bush and Ross Perot both claim Texas as home. Maybe Bob
feels a little resentment towards his old rivals.
Another memorable scene in the movie, is when the (very Hillary Clinton) first lady dies. I'm certain any good republican couldn't help but enjoy watching that.
Finally the movie takes a strong stand against illegal
aliens. Sure the liberals wanted to welcome them with open
arms, but look what they did once they got here. We can't just
open up our borders to anybody who wants entry, you never know
when they'll have let loose with there nuclear disruptors.
I must agree with Dole, nothing brings up the fond memories of my childhood like wholesale death and destruction.
