ELECTRONICS I

This program is designed to provide the students the basic skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the field of electronics. Students learn basic theories of electricity, magnetism, AC and DC currents, and semi-conductor devices. Mathematics is used extensively in the study and application of circuit theory. The use of proper tools and techniques is stressed. The course includes both classroom and shop activity and requires homework. Participation in Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) is encouraged.

ELECTRONICS II

Electronics II is a continuation in depth of areas studied in Electronics I. Electronic communication is introduced. Students work with integrated circuits, digital electronics, microprocessors and robotics. Students take part in a job orientation program. Students recommended by their instructor may be eligible for placement in an on-the-job training program with a local employer during the second semester. The course includes both classroom and shop activity and requires homework. Participation in Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) is encouraged. Students completing the Electronics program may receive advanced standing and 4 credits at Wor-Wic Community College in the electronics technology program.
