COMPUTER ASSISTED DRAFTING & DESIGN

LEVEL 1

This course introduces skills and knowledge that will prepare students for careers in the field of computer aided drafting and design. Students will learn to use AutoCAD software to develop mechanical and architectural drawings. Level One projects and activities will be concentrated in the areas of mechanical and engineering design. It is suggested that students take Principles of Technology as a related science and Drafting I as a related elective. Participation in Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) is encouraged.

LEVEL 2

The second year is a continuation and in depth study of the concepts and skills taught in level one with additional emphasis on advanced skills in architectural and civil engineering. Students will gain knowledge and skill to develop electronic diagrams, assembled parts, and detailed machine drawings. Participation in Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) is encouraged.
