• capitalization
• punctuation
• spelling
• sentence structure
• grammar and usage

Score Point 4

• My writing is consistently correct in spelling, capitalization, and punctuation.
• I used a variety of sentence formations that are clear and understandable.
• My grammar and usage are appropriate for this type of writing.
• Any errors that are present do not interefere with the reader's understanding.

Score Point 3

• My writing might have some errors in spelling, capitalization, and punctuation.
• The sentence formations I used are generally clear and understandable.
• My grammar and usage are appropriate for this type of writing.
• Errors I may have do not interfere with the reader's understanding.

Score Point 2

• My writing has errors in spelling, capitalization, and punctuation, and some might be repeated throughout.
• I tried some sentence variation, but my sentence formations might not be clear.
• I have errors that may interfere with the reader's understanding.

Score Point 1

• My writing needs serious improvement when it comes to capitalization, spelling, and punctuation.
• I need to vary my sentences and work on making them clear.
• I might not have written enough to really show what I know about capitalization, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and usage.
