The Latest News from Holland Island



It is with great pleasure that we welcome Holland Island descendents and
Dorchester County natives Diane Reuter and Clara Stephens. They have been
asked, and have volunteered to serve on the Board of Directors. Descended
from the Powley and Parks families of Holland Island, they cannot just stand
by and watch the land of their ancestors erode into the Chesapeake Bay.
Consequently, they are dedicated to help in any way possible and are actively
seeking out other Island descendents to help in this critical time. It is
their sincere belief that if the living descendents of Holland Islanders will
join in this worthy cause, their cumulative efforts will result in their Island
being saved so future generations will have a tangible origin of their roots.

Diane graduated from the Dorchester County school system and has worked as
Finance Manager for a national and international mail-order firm. Clara
graduated from Salisbury Teacher's College and taught school in Dorchester
County for many years.

They are asking for your help and time is of the essence!
