Race
#2 in the Triple Crown Paddle Classic is a ten mile
heat, taking place on the Pocomoke River in Snow Hill, Maryland.
The course begins 1/4 mile upstream from the Pocomoke River bridge at the
Tri-State pier in Snow Hill. The course continues to wind 5 miles downstream
to the Pocomoke River State Forest Park's Shad Landing Area. The Challenge
course continues downstream through Corker's Creek, before passing Shad
and returning to Sturgis Park in Snow Hill. The race is an event that canoeists
and kayakers of all skill levels can enjoy. The registration for this United
States Canoe Association (USCA) sanctioned event begins promptly at 8 AM
until 8:45 AM. All canoes/kayaks must be in the water before 9:15 AM to
prepare for staggered race starts. The first heat begins at 9:30 AM.
The early entry fee is $10 per paddler. Entry form envelope must be postmarked no later than Friday, May 9, 1997. The late entry fee for all registration forms received between May 10 - 17, 1997 is $15 per paddler.
